Chief Executive Officer

01Role purpose

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) holds overall responsibility for the strategic leadership, direction and performance of Suregro Technology Ltd (trading as Conqr AI), the UK operating and intellectual-property-owning entity of the Suregro group. As the business scales its AI-powered legal technology platform, customer base and commercial operations, the CEO provides senior leadership from the United Kingdom: setting strategy in conjunction with the Board, running day-to-day operations, developing customer and partner relationships, and ensuring the Company’s resources and activities remain aligned with its long-term objectives.

02Key responsibilities

1. 2.1Plan, direct and co-ordinate the overall operational, commercial, financial and organisational activities of the Company, in conjunction with the Board of Directors.
2. 2.2Determine, formulate and implement the Company’s strategic direction, business plans, policies and objectives, and review performance against them.
3. 2.3Lead the commercial development of the business in the UK market, including building and managing customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, and developing strategic partnerships.
4. 2.4Oversee the continued development and go-to-market of the Company’s AI-powered legal technology platform, working closely with the product, engineering and legal technology functions.
5. 2.5Set, monitor and control annual budgets, financial targets and resource allocation to ensure the Company remains financially sound and able to meet its obligations.
6. 2.6Represent the Company to investors, customers, partners, regulators and other external stakeholders, and lead investor relations and fundraising activity.
7. 2.7Establish and maintain effective governance, risk management and compliance arrangements, including data protection and information security appropriate to a legal technology business.
8. 2.8Provide leadership and direction to the senior team and wider workforce, setting objectives, evaluating performance and fostering the Company’s culture and values.
9. 2.9Ensure the Company meets its legal, regulatory and contractual obligations, including its duties as a licensed sponsor under the Skilled Worker route.
10. 2.10Report to the Board on the Company’s performance, strategy, risks and opportunities, and implement Board decisions.

03Essential

1. 3.1A degree-level qualification (RQF Level 6 or above) in law, business, finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification and experience.
2. 3.2Significant senior leadership or executive experience, with a track record of setting strategy and leading the commercial and operational development of a business.
3. 3.3Strong commercial acumen, including experience of business development, customer relationship management, partnerships and fundraising.
4. 3.4Sound financial and organisational management skills, including budgeting, planning and resource allocation.
5. 3.5Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
6. 3.6Understanding of the legal and/or legal-technology sector and of the governance, data-protection and information-security considerations relevant to a technology business handling sensitive client data.
7. 3.7Right to work in the UK (including via the Skilled Worker route).

04Desirable

1. 4.1Professional legal qualification in one or more common-law jurisdictions, with experience of cross-border transactions and complex business models.
2. 4.2International legal exposure of cross-border transactions and complex business models.
3. 4.3Experience in private equity, venture capital or technology start-up / scale-up environments.
4. 4.4Experience of working with AI, SaaS or enterprise software businesses.

05Skill level

This role is a senior leadership position carried out at RQF Level 6 or above and falls within Standard Occupational Classification (SOC 2020) code 1111 Chief executives and senior officials, which is eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.
